On Wednesday, the company's top executive a key figure informed team members about this organizational change through an internal memo, which highlighted that early feedback sessions had revealed the requirement for a distinct vision.

A Pattern of Strategic Hires
The news follows a similar action taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they hired Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to work on the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.

Hello Everyone—
I know you all just wrapped up your gathering - I hope you’re as excited as I am with the recent updates. Previously I shared you all a message, I mentioned the following: “I am confident in this crew. You all are some of the most driven and innovative developers we have had the pleasure to collaborate with - and we’re eager for that partnership to persist.”
Given your hard work and adaptability, especially over the last year, you repeatedly show that.

Our confidence in this project increases every day. To further the remarkable advancement you’ve made, I am thrilled to announce Ben Brinkman as the incoming Lead of 31st Union. Following some time of talks, Ben starts with us on next week.
Ben’s guidance and background in the competitive gaming genre is vast, having devoted the past decade and a half producing and leading some of the most recognizable franchises in the industry, for example Call of Duty: Black Ops, and lately, the battle royale hit.
